It’s been “A Hard Day’s Night”, well maybe just a long, cold winter, but now is not the time to just “Let it Be”. No, it’s time to “Come Together” and “Help!”
“Eleanor Rigby” has taken her face out of the jar she keeps by the door to help the Crawford County United Way organize the first ever “Beatles Bash – A Little Help From My Friends” dinner concert on April 30 at the Ramada Inn in Grayling.
We don’t want to have to “Twist and Shout” to get you to buy your “Ticket to Ride”, no, your ticket to the Beatles Bash, so just “Please Please Me” and “Rocky Raccoon” by just visiting one of our ticket sellers “Anytime At All” no later than April 23.
Tickets are only $30 per person and are available at J. Dap Co., Ramada Inn, 7-Eleven, Flowers by Josie, Grayling Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the Crawford County Avalanche. Price includes dinner, dessert and non-alcoholic beverage plus an evening of live music by Beatles tribute band Silver Hammer.
The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with an acoustic set, mingling and cocktails from the premium cash bar. Dinner will be served at 8:00 p.m. followed by more music, dancing and fun. Come dressed for the 60s – early 70s and you may win a prize for the Best Retro Look. (You know… your best Austin Powers look.) A Silent Auction will be held. Please bring cash or check in case you have the winning bid on an item.
The Ramada Inn of Grayling, at 2650 S. I-75 Business Loop, is offering rooms for just $45 that night for those attending the event. To make a reservation, call (989) 348-7611.
So, don’t be a “Dizzie Miss Lizzie” or “Mean Mister Mustard”. Hop into your “Yellow Submarine” or “Drive My Car” and be there. Tell all of your friends and mark your calendar for April 30. Get your tickets today. You don’t want to be caught crying “I’m a Loser” after missing the best event of the year.
“We need to sell 300 tickets to make the biggest fundraiser of the year for our United Way a complete success,” said Karen Hatley, President. “We really need your support and look forward to seeing all of you in tie-dyed shirts, bell bottoms, and Nehru jackets. Don’t forget your love beads and mood rings, too.”
Donations of items for the Silent Auction are welcome. For more information, call Cheryll Ruley at (989) 348-1429 or email crawfordUW@gmail.com.
